Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process bifurcates seats into three distinct categories across colleges: GAS (Govt. Aided), SFS (Self-Financed), and TFWS (Tuition Fee Waiver). Understanding this distinction is crucial to prevent unexpectedly high semester fee bills.
| Seat Category | Offered In | Tuition Fee Range | Reservation Quota | Eligible Candidates | Choice Priority Advice |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
|
GAS Government Aided |
Only Autonomous Govt Universities (MBM, CTAE, RTU) | ₹15,000 – ₹25,000 / semester | Full State Quota (SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS, Women) | Rajasthan Domicile candidates (High merit ranks) | Highest Priority — Always fill GAS choices before SFS for the same branch. |
|
SFS Self-Financed Seat |
Govt Autonomous, all GECs & all Private Colleges | ₹45,000 – ₹95,000 / semester | 85% Rajasthan Home Quota + 15% Outside Rajasthan | Both Rajasthan Domicile & Outside Rajasthan (OR) | Fill Secondary — Recommended after GAS choices in premier institutions. |
|
TFWS Tuition Fee Waiver |
All AICTE-approved Govt & Private Colleges (5% extra seats) | ₹0 Tuition Fee (Pay only exam & caution money: ₹8k–₹12k/yr) | Merit-based open competition (Income capped) | Rajasthan Domiciles with annual family income < ₹8.0 Lakh | Select TFWS Option — High cutoff rank, significant four-year cost savings. |

Clear answers to vital queries concerning college selection, CEG codes, seat reservation, and reporting protocols.
MBM University, Jodhpur (formerly MBM Engineering College, established in 1951) is universally recognized as the flagship government technical institution in Rajasthan under REAP. Following MBM, CTAE Udaipur (College of Technology and Engineering under MPUAT) and University Departments, RTU Kota represent the premier tier of state-funded engineering campuses.
GAS (Government Aided Seats) are heavily subsidized by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan. Students only pay approx. ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per semester. GAS seats are exclusive to autonomous universities like MBM, CTAE, and RTU.
SFS (Self-Financed Seats) are non-subsidized, costing between ₹60,000 and ₹95,000 per semester. The curriculum, degree, professors, and laboratory infrastructure for both GAS and SFS students in the same branch are identical.
Outside Rajasthan candidates are allotted seats under a statutory 15% quota based exclusively on their NTA JEE Main 2027 All India CRL Rank. Round 1 of REAP seat allotment is dedicated entirely to Outside Rajasthan applicants. Both government autonomous colleges and RTU-affiliated private institutions are open for Outside Rajasthan candidates.
Each participating college is assigned a 3-digit institutional identifier by the Centre for Electronic Governance (CEG) Rajasthan (e.g., Code 001 for MBM University, 002 for CTAE Udaipur, 003 for RTU Kota, 023 for SKIT Jaipur). During online choice filling on reap.rajasthan.gov.in, filtering choices using the exact 3-digit code prevents accidental selection of similar-sounding institutions.
TFWS is an AICTE-mandated scheme providing 5% supernumerary seats in every branch of all approved colleges. Candidates selected under TFWS receive 100% waiver on tuition fees throughout the four-year course. To qualify, candidates must be Rajasthan Domiciles with total annual family income from all sources under ₹8.0 Lakh.
The premier private institutions affiliated with Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) in Jaipur include:
